Loïk Tavernier - Sommelier at Nicolas

In the midst of the transformation of the Tourelle Centre, Loïk Tavernier, the sommelier at Nicolas store, does not let the construction work disrupt his passion for wine. In a place with a village atmosphere where everyone coexists and knows each other, it is easier to transmit the love of the winemaker.

Loïk, can you describe your career path before joining Nicolas store?
Before starting here, I was the head sommelier at President Wilson, and then at Châteauvieux Estate in Satigny. I bring a rich experience in the field of Michelin-starred sommellerie, which has prepared me for the exciting challenges at Nicolas.

How does the renovation of the La Tourelle shopping center influence your daily life at the Nicolas store?
The renovation has certainly brought its share of challenges, especially in terms of noise and dust, which requires us to clean our bottles more frequently. However, we have adapted our services to continue offering a quality customer experience. For example, we offer a delivery service in collaboration with Smood, allowing our customers to receive their favorite wines directly at home.

What is your approach to maintaining a good relationship with customers during these works?
We make it a point of honor to remain accessible and to offer personalized service, despite the construction work. It is essential to understand and respond quickly to the needs of our customers, which helps maintain a warm and family-like atmosphere, even in times of change.

What impacts do these works have on the wine offering at Nicolas?
Despite the construction, we continue to offer a wide selection of wines. We have even expanded our services by taking over the tobacco section of the former neighboring kiosk. The works push us to be more creative and flexible in our stock and space management.

Located in a more central spot within La Tourelle, adjacent to the hairdresser, the new store will feature an expanded storage area to better respond to an increasing demand.

How do you envision the future of the Nicolas store once the works are completed?

I am very optimistic about the future after the renovation. We will be located in an even more central location within La Tourelle, next to new neighbors like the hairdresser. This will improve our visibility and accessibility. Additionally, an increase in our storage area will allow us to better meet the growing demand.

Any last words for your customers during this transition period?
We are extremely grateful for your loyalty and patience during this period. We look forward to welcoming you to our newly renovated space, where we will continue to share our passion for wines with even more enthusiasm and new offerings.
